Experience & Background:
Jim and his wife, Gail, moved to Tryon in 2002 where they built a horse farm to pursue their equine passions. Having been a life long resident of Florida until their relocation, Hess only wished he had made the transition earlier in life. Jim worked in state government in Florida for 36 years and frequently vacationed in the NC mountains.
Strengths & Motivations:
Real estate as a second career for Jim has been a rewarding experience since moving to Tryon. His first three years in real estate in Polk County has been a real learning curve with many positive outcomes. Jim counts his horse experience and his relocation from Florida as primary real estate markets in his new career.
Personal & Community Interests:
Jim has also become actively involved in a number of community activities and is currently the President Elect for the Tryon Kiwanis Club. With other volunteer activities in the Blue Ridge BBQ Festival, PAC, Crime Stoppers, The Community Chorus, and the DSS committee for children in foster care, he has enjoyed the level of community participation that a small town offers.
He and his wife both enjoy riding the FETA trail system, gardening, running and enjoying the natural beauty of the mountain area. They both also enjoy their two Soft Coated Wheaten Terriers named Braelee and Toula.
